Connect Reviso to Codex
Use the native HTTP MCP configuration in Codex CLI, app or IDE; no Reviso plugin is required.
Connection URL
Use the hosted Reviso MCP endpoint: https://reviso.work/mcp
Setup steps
- Run codex mcp add reviso --url https://reviso.work/mcp --oauth-client-registration dcr.
- Do not add --oauth-resource. Discovery supplies the resource; duplicate resource parameters are rejected.
- Approve browser consent if add prompts for it. Otherwise run codex mcp login reviso --oauth-client-registration dcr. Open a new Codex session and check /mcp; an existing conversation does not gain newly configured tools.
- For loopback login, approve in a browser on the same computer as Codex and keep the login command running; 127.0.0.1 on another device cannot reach its callback.
- If /mcp reports connected but tools remain missing, inspect Codex startup and model-provider errors, then retry in a new session. Repeated OAuth login does not repair tool visibility.
- Configuration lives in ~/.codex/config.toml; a trusted project can use .codex/config.toml. See https://developers.openai.com/codex/mcp/.
What happens on connect
The client discovers Reviso OAuth metadata from /mcp, opens the browser, and stores a scoped connection token after you consent. The agent can then read and update only the content your account can already reach.
Permissions and privacy
The connection is account-level and inherits your existing access. Tool visibility is filtered by capability at call time, and every write goes through the same checks the browser uses. Review or revoke connections any time from Settings > Integrations.
Example tasks
- Ask an agent to review a draft and propose revisions.
- Have the agent summarize the comments on a document.
- Instruct the agent to apply the suggested edit as a new version.
